Well no confusion on the White Crappie...5.67 pounds caught in Mississippi in 1957 I think was the year.
I was trying to look for the world record crappies online but I dont know if i'm finding the real thing or not....I checked some records but some of them inflict with eachother....I guess my question is, what are the world record black, and white crappies?

that are "certified" with the IGFA:
Crappie, black 4-8 Kerr Lake, VA Mar. 1, 1981 L. Carl Herring Jr.
Crappie, white 5-3 Enid Dam, MS July 31, 1957 Fred L. Bright
BUT .... there are other Crappie that have been caught, and registered as "State Record" fish, that are bigger. Such as the South Carolina State Record Black Crappie : Black Crappie 5-0 Lake Moultrie 1957 P.E. Foust High Point, NC
Then, of course, there's the "reported" 6lb Crappies caught in Louisiana ... but, none were ever "verified" by Wildlife Dept Officers, nor submitted to IGFA. The most recent of which is listed on the "old records" catagory of La Dpt of Wildlife & Fisheries: http://www.wlf.state.la.us/apps/reco...categoryID=119
Louisiana cleaned house on their State Record fish in 1994 ... and started over.

KY's new State Record Crappie weighed 4lb 14oz, and could have been a new World Record ... except it was determined to be a hybrid cross (Black/White), and IGFA does not certify "hybrids". (note: Ky does not distinguish between White & Black Crappie for State Record status)
These are the most current weights that I'm aware of............... cp
