Thumbs up local lake in the wind

after a tiring day at work, i had about an hour and tried a small lake that i could fish from the bank over a large brush pile in 10 feet of water. Used a bobber 30 inches above a jig tipped with a niblet. Probably caught 30 fish, with almost a bite every cast and ended up with 10 fish each going 10 or 11 inches. It was windy but that just made the bobber bounce and excite the crappie. Had to go to a meeting or i might still be fishing.

    agree with fuzzy, good stuff!
We do not want the gift of a fish; neither do we expect a lesson on fishing; what we direly need is a chance to fish

Went out again for an hourTuesday prior to another meeting, same pattern as yesterday but the harder the wind the better the bite. When the wind slacked off so did the fishing. Still caught about 30 crappie, but kept only the 10 inchers and there were 9 of them. Gave them to a retired couple in town. If the wind is blowing might try it again today for another hour. But wait i think i have another bite! Bruce

    Bruce,

Glad your having fun. I took a couple of friends to Shelbyville a couple of days ago. Had over 100
fish in about 3-4 hrs. It was awesome, but, didn't keep any--had to go back to work.
