You need to move to Grenada , MS........then you can fish Sardis, Grenada, Enid and Arkabutla.....better known as the Arch of Slabs. The world record white crappie came from Enid. Grenada is a decent sized city so car sales should be good also the rent is a lot cheaper than what your talking about.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

Go to Alabama. Nice seasonal temperatures. Lay Lake. Weiss Lake. Guntersville Lake. Logan Martin Lake. They all are within 45 minutes to 1.5 hours from B'ham.

I have fished SC all my life so i dont have much to compare too but i love being down here in Florida. We got some pretty good lakes to fish. These fish come from this past weekend. 40 on fri and 100 on saturday. Dont forget about the excellent bluegill/shellcracker fishing down here to and do i have to mention that its known as the "fishing capital of the world". Not saying its better than Mississippi though, i have never been. you dont always catch monster slabs but the fish are usually a nice size. I catch alot of 11-13inch fish, and you get a mix of slabs in there. There is also more to do in Florida than just fish

yeah I love Missouri/Tennessee, and Florida and Alabama look nice, but if you're moving criteria is based on crappie fishing, Mississippi is it! and 850 a month should get ya a 4 bedroom 2 bath on an acre down there!

Jonesboro AR is a great place to live.We are 1.5 -2.5 hours from MS lakes. Reelfoot TN is 2 hours. Also we have to many oxbow to mention on the MS and White river. I wont even go into our clear deep water lakes in AR. And 850 will get you a house and a acre.
