I'm sorry Denny...I should have been more precise with what I call "houseboat cove". If you head towards the dam and get approx. 3/4 of the way to the dam the lake has a large arm going off to the left...this is what I call houseboat cove because every Saturday evening about 2 hours before dark a half dozen or so of the small house boats on the lake head down the lake and always go straight back into that arm of the lake. They never go anywhere but there...it has become something of an inside joke between me and my wife because they go back there...sit a while and then come back onto the main lake..then go back into houseboat cove and repeat the whole process until dark.
When you turn left into the large arm ...on your left again will be a cove with an aboandoned old pontoon boat in the back..I have caught nice crappie in this cove and on the points on it's outer edges..also have caught nice fish across from this cove also. And one more spot I have had real good luck in this year is on the other side of the lake...if you head towards the dam ...the last large cove to the right...go 3/4 of the way back in it and there are trees in the water on the left...fish these downed trees...they can produce some very nice fish...if all I did was confuse you let me know and I will try to do a better job of describing .....BTW...the rain is supposed to be gone by noon tomorrow so my wife and I are planning to give it one more try before winterizing the boat

one more thing...I know this can change on a moments notice but the last 4 weeks I have caught them on nothing but tubes...they wouldn't touch a minnow. I cast towards the shore or parallel to the shore with the smallest jig I can cast and reel it in as slow as possible while maintaining the depth I want.....almost like bass fishing....once I find them the fun begins!! The best colors have been in the white or yellow range and two weeks ago chartruse with silver sparkles worked too.

Thanks Kenny I have fished the cove on the right 3/4 down on the left also good spot. Across the boat ramp there is a tree caught limit there about 6 weeks ago on minnows 5 feet deep. Might see you there there calling for up to 1 inch rain tonight.

If you see a red Dodge Dakota with a red topper in the lot by the ramp it's mine...I'll be in a Tracker Tournament Pro V 18 boat with a 90 horse Merc. with a 10hp Merc. kicker to be legal on the lake.....float over and say Hi
