You're welcome. I just made some suggestions, you did the fishing! Headed out tomorrow morning for a while and meeting up with flycaster and his pal to load the boat. I've narrowed it down to where the speckzillas are hanging out. Not the big numbers but the size of fish make up for it. With this wind lately we may only get a couple of hours in.

Been reading the thread bout best 7 fish weight & found these pic's. Florida can hang with the best & even a guy like me can get lucky every now & then. My son's personal best caught last Nov.2011
was 16 1/2". The day my stars came together Jan. 2010, my personal best 17 1/2" in my right hand, (4) 16", & (2) 15". My only regrets was not taking a "single" photo of the biggest, which at the time I figured I was sure to catch one larger, WRONG........something to shoot for this year, along with an investment in a decent digital scale.

The pictues of fish that Yelim & fishin813 posted on Febr 12, were all in the
2 lb class. Yelim two 2 lbs, 3 oz & 2 lbs, 5.5 oz. The two that fishin813 is
holding weighed in at 2lbs, 8.5 oz and 2 lbs, 2.5 oz. Fish were caught in one of
Polk county lakes, long lining on super altra-lite rods, pfuger reels and 4 lb. test
flouracarbon line.
This fish was 17.25 inches long... so you know that your fish of 17 in was well
into the 2 lb range

Actually picture was taken in bedroom at Riverview home just after i got mount
back from Taxidermist. Wife said or made it clear that they weren't going to stay
in bedroom any length of time. (married 29 yrs) so onto cabin they went, can't find
cabin picture will continue to look.
The day these were caught Ron Miley (yelmin) we caught 5 of these big ones within
space of about 1 hr, all within a 100 yd area....and lost 2 that were much larger than
these.....all on 4 lb test line with micro-lite rods in a Gheenoe, "talk about being in
a compact situation": Visulize that scene " rods bending almost in half off back end of boat (16' canoe) partner in front with net, can only hope that can get fish to
boat and work it towards front for netting or lay down over cooler & rear seat, stretch out over rear
back of boat and try and net without tipping everything over.
Once netted, now what does partner do in layed out positon.??140153
It was one of most wonderful experiences that a pair of fishermen could have.
Talk about team work....

Did the mount work for me and I believe him to be one of the best around our
area. Really captured the colors of true "Black Crappie" in heavy stained water
that Florida lakes are noted for. (water is so dark, that when you drop fish in
live well they disappear)
