    Default how do you measure a prop comments


    Do you measure across and around or??? if I got a prop that is supposed to be 8x5 1/2 how do I make sure it's the right one.. it has a clutch in the prop so don't tell me to switch prop as I would have to press out the clutch and put it in what is the new prop???part #0312286 or 315858 rude

    Diameter and pitch, in that order. Measure from the center of the shaft to the tip of the blade, the multiply by 2. Usually some numbers on the hub to tell you what it is. I'll let some of the more learned opine on it further. Mechanics corner will do this better than here. Barnacle Bill is pretty smart with this stuff.
