    Default Fish Identification

    Everyone,
Caught these two fish in the creek up from the house. Can you tell me what they are? How big should a blue gill be to keep?

First one is a female Bluegill, I believe. Second one looks like a Shiner, or possibly a Herring Shad.

I usually don't keep Bluegill unless they're around the 8" mark, or larger. But, I have caught them, cleaned them, & eaten them ... much smaller than that :p (but, I was much younger then, too ... LOL !! )

Like Crappiepappy said Bluegill and Shiner. Both look like fine Flathead Catfish bait to me.
