    How do i hook up (2) batteries for 12v trolling motor!:o

    to run a 12 volt motor off 2 batteries hook positive to positive and negative to negative and hook the motor to 1 battery. be just like a set of jumper cables.
    Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.

    I have read somewhere that the batteries must be similar to run as previously suggested. I am tired of my battery pooping out too. I mounted the biggest 12v battery I could find behind the rear seat in my stick steer. Now I have a group 24 in the factory position and a 27 behind the seat. I am using a switch so I can draw from one or the other when one poops out. Which leads to my question if I may. What size wire goes on a trolling motor. I have a fusable link with 10 guage that has worked out for quite some time now.

    Yes it is recommended that they both be the same size and age.
