Question How do you find the large crappie?

We have found the samll crappie on a lake that "legend" says holds 18" crappie. We've been out there a few times and have yet to even get anything of keepable size, though we do have fun catching them. We are jigging with crappie tubes over the side of the boat. I would love for my boys to be able to catch some large ones

I see big ones on the FF all the time, but never on my hook

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

Slow troll with your normal productive lures, but take a couple or 3 rigs depending on the number of rods and upsize your bait. Either large minnows, oversized tubes, road runners or something larger than normal. Might not get as many bites, but normally upsizing will help entice the larger fish and scare away some of the dinks.

2 things. Can't catch them if thge big fish aren't where you are. Number two is to try some bigger profiled baits. Not necessarily heavier baits, but bigger bodied. Gimme a holler if you want some pics of what I tie for big ones.
