    Default Delco Voyager batteries

For those of you that use them, what size do you use? I talked to our local Delco rep this morning and found they have 2 sizes. Group 27 rated at 550 amp and group 30 at 625 amp. Once in a while I need to run 2 days in a row without being abe to recharge. I have a 24V motor.

The biggest that fit is my motto. I use the 27s because the 31s won't fit in my boat.

I thought it was group 31, is there also a marine group 30?

Hey IBNFSHN, I got a pair of 27's, I wouldn't swear to it, but think the
bigger ones (3? series) are a little taller. I slide mine in under home-made front deck, and they are a tight squeeze. Seems like they give the dimensions on their website though, if you want to look at them.

I thought it was too, but the man said it was 30. I guess he was right. I just did a little googling and come up with some other group 30's and 31's.

    Default Delco Voyager Specifications

    Got me to wondering soooooooooo:
Turns out Delco Voyager Marine comes in 3 sizes.
24 - 27 and 30. All have an M prefix on the part number Those are the only ones designed for constant discharge and recharge. Tenth item on the second page.
The DC 31's I have been using are not designed for marine use.
The M30 is about and inch longer, same width, and .10 higher than the M27 group so they should fit a standard group 27 battery box.

Bill, I have 3 of the 27 series and would not have anything else...I have never run them down & I always get good service out of Voyagers....

Just for your info, I pay $73.00 here in Wytheville so you should do that good or better down East

I just price one yesterday at the Delco dealer here and for a 27 group Voyager I think they priced it to me at $85.00.
