    Default Catfish bait question.....shrimp.....

Those of you that use shrimp.....is it better to use the shrimp with the shell off or on?
What are your experiences with using shrimp?
    Thanks

I myself like the uncooked shrimp with the shell on but for some reason I pull the tail off?
I prefer to use fresh cut bait. ( Shad or Blugill. )

For saltwater I peel my shrimp, but for cats I either use peeled and salted or shell on cut in 2-3 pieces. They don't mind the shell and it stays on a little better.

Shell on or off, doesn't seem to make much difference. I would not recommend cooked shrimp, alway use raw. I have caught catfish on TONS of different baits. But this year, I put a small dab of chicken liver on first, and them a small peice of raw shrimp to hold it on, and have caught more than my share of channel cats.

Raw Shrimp soaked in garlic is a catfish killer, with our without tail.
