    Default Blue lights?

I see they are selling blue lights now, anyone ever try one? I love the green ones, I though green went through the water farther.

Blue color will penetrate the water farther than any color other than violet and these two are the last ones visible up to 40' in gin clear water. All go after that except UV colors and they go on for a very long ways.

Blue lights have been around forever.......reason you might not have heard about them is they are mostly used in oceans.
But having said that old timmers claim that they will work in freshwater also.

As Skip mentioned UV has a lot to do with it. And blue will penetrate deeper into the waters

Question about lights? I have two friends on two different lakes that have green lights. See lots of fish around them, but can't catch any. Even leaving yo-yo's baited all night. Doing something wrong?

There are awful lot of variables.

    Water temp
    Depth of Lights
    Fish not hungry
    Lake turning
    Moon
Kind of fish around light (shinners, etc)
    Time of night

    Just for starters

When designing our lights we did a ton of experiments with blue's of different wavelengths since blue travels farthest in water next to UV. In one test we had all colors together and could flip from one to the other in an instant. The green we settled on draws zoo-plankton fast and they will swarm the light but when we would flip the green off and the blue instantly on instead the plankton will swim away as fast as they could. UV results were the same. Red was good but does not travel far in water. White resulted in about 50% as much plankton. On the other hand the blue lights do draw fish as we see when using them to bring in Stripers at night, but with no food source for them they don't stay long.
