That's a good article, covers the bases real good. I do it with a little different rig lately. I use 1/8 jigs on the end of the line and tip them with a minnow. Puts fish in the boat for me, and I know in an instant when something is foolin with my jig. Plastic jig bodies(assassin's) let me change color of the presentation pretty quick. And yes, color makes a difference with this method.

I fish 8-13' poles spread equally around the front of my boat. I have my rod holders (two T-bars with 4 holders each) set knee high so I can grab one instantly. There's no hard set rules as to rigging poles since everybody that fishing long poles catches fish. I rig all of mine with a 1 oz. bell sinker on the bottom with either one hook or jig up from the weight on a loop knot about 12"-18". I have double rigged them but found I go through ALOT more minnows and dont necessarily catch any more fish. Some people troll at .8 to 1.2 mph pushing but I prefer a much slower "crawl" @ .2-.3 mph. My suggestion, get rigged and get on the water and fisnd some fish with the graph and start pushing. You'll learn so much more on the water than anyone can tell ya in print. Once you get a taste of pushing I'm sure you'll have some direct questions that'll be easy for the pushers to give you direct answers to.

BTW, I ALWAYS tip jigs with minnows when pushing.

I use HiTek rod holders and I really like them. I use them for pushing and pulling crankbaits as well as spider rigging.

The 2 most important tips I could give:

    1. Set up your boat so that you don't have to get up for anything...poles, tackle, bait, livewell...if you get off the TM, even for a second, you've already lost control of keeping the baits in the strike zone...

    2. If you think you're going slow enough...go slower..
