    Well,

I use both. The tubes are nice because you can switch colors really fast. I use the hair jigs most of the time. I tie a lot of my own jigs and they seem to work well. I can't make them fast enough to make profit, but I enjoy making them and I like being able to make any color configuration I want. I can't say that my jigs will out perform the ones you buy at the store, but it saves a little money and it feels good to catch fish on jigs I made myself.

Color: It is hard to beat black and Char.

I am versitile, I will switch colors until I find what they like and that will be my favorite color that day!

    My 2 cents.

I'll take, but not limited to, the chartruese twisters. Always done good on all types of water. What is your preference?
This only my opinion, but nothing you can say will change my mind. That makes it a FACT.

    Hi,

Seems like the fisherman in Illinois use tube jigs more than hair jigs.....A lot of the guys I chat with online use tube jigs....I would think both would work....I am going to give hair jigs a try...

Hair jigs are great for open water since you can't really get them hung up. For fishing in and around any cover I usually switch to a tube jig or start at most spots with tube jigs and if they won't hit those I'll switch up and go to a solid, usually dark colored hair jig. I can't wait to try some of Carlos' jigs.

I have the darnest time putting crappie nibles in the hair jigs using the bait pump.

    Hi Sac-a-Lait,

Have you placed an order for some of those Carlos jigs yet?

How can you use the Bait Pump with hair jigs? I like both but i agree with using hair jigs more out in open water.

    Default Jigs

I swap up alot between the both all year to find what they want. Most of the time I like tubes in spring and summer for the action, and I like hair in the fall and winter for the slow fall and little action. Favorite colors are blue/white, orange, grey, pink, or anything chart., but then again I try every color I can to find the one they want at the time.
