Hello RiverDay, I pull cranks from the front of my boat, but out of the back I would use a 6 to 9 ft rod like you would bass fish with. Just be sure to have them angled up around 45 degrees in your rod holder so a fish couldn't pull them out.

B'n'M Pro Trollers with Okuma line counter reels, 10lb. high vis yellow line. I pull a 8 ft. and a 12 ft. on each side and two 10 footers straight out the back....this gives me good separation on all my lines with 6 poles.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

I agree with Scott with having em at 45 degrees. I use 6.6 and 8' rods off the back of the boat and I like a rod with medium action.

hey wilbur and blueball, how do you like those Silstars? the local bait shop has them from 8' - 12' for $20. thinkin bout gettin a couple 12' for the front to spread the jigs a lil further. are they light enough action for pullin jigs?

    Thanks,

    Ben

I have a limited number of 8 and 10 ft Silstars for $9.00 and $11.00. Sold out of the 12 ft; however, now have HT Panfish 12 ft in stock for $13.95.
