Pomme De Terre Fishing Report
Had the privilege of heading to the lake over the weekend. The crappie fishing is hotter than a firecracker on the fourth of July!!! I was real surprised how good the fishing has been, they are currently pulling water at 2000 CFS and dropping the lake approximately five inches per day. Many anglers have already given up on Pomme because of the draw down, however it hasn't stopped the bite just yet. Hopefully it will stay good for the Crappie Slayers Tournament next weekend.
Friday - Just went out and checked new spots for last Saturday's tournament. Kept 20 and threw back several in a four hour prefish trip.
Saturday - Two limits in about three hours.
Sunday - Two limits in two hours.
Monday - 12 keepers and several shorts in 2.5 hours.
Caught fish on standing timber and brush piles. The fish were scattered and some spots were cold while others you could pull several fish from. Used jigs - white, blue, gray, chart, pink - didn't really seem to matter. They were anywhere from 2' deep to 15' deep and anywhere in between. Caught several good eaters but lacked some really big fish, only had one 13" on Saturday. Wish I knew where the bigger fish were, if anybody wants to share I'm all ears!
Hope you get out and get on them.
Brad
