    Default Table Rock 09-11-10

Went in search of crappie today. Put in at Cape Fair boat dock and headed down stream to try to get away from the muddy water. fished some stickups and drifted minnows and tubes in anywhere from 15 feet to 30 feet. Caught only small bass and a small catfish. This lake has me scratching my head for crappie. Might try a night over some lights, see if that works.

I sure wouldn't be discouraged because there's a lot of good fisherman who are struggling on TR this year for some reason. I'd be willing to bet one thing tho, it sure beat working huh? lol

I certainly am not one of the "good fishermen" he speaks of, as I only started Crappie fishing this last spring and have yet to catch a limit on the Rock! Did catch some very nice slabs before and after the spawn though. The last few trips I was out I also put in at Cape Fair and had the same results as you. No Crappie at all and only short Kentuckies and LM with a few cats here and there. Not sure why, but even the White Bass are being weird this year. Last year they would stay on the surface busting Shad for up to half an hour. Now they stay up for a minute or so and then they are gone!

I will be on the water Monday or Tuesday and will post a report then.
