This is my set up and it works for me,6' Berkley cherrywood medium light with a Pfleuger trion spinning reel(just got my 6'ozark shooter but haven't tried it yet)i use hi viz 6lb line and almost always shoot 1/16 oz with solid body jigs like bobby garland baby shad or slab slay r's,we also use sliders, kalins and panfish assassins at times. This is stuff that works for me and can be tweaked to suit you.......get ready Smtty there up here waitin on ya.

I am an in-experienced dock shooter, only done a few times. I feel like I have the ability to get the jig under the dock, but with so many docks to choose from what would you guys say is the most important thing to look for when picking out a dock to shoot?

    Depth of water?
    Shade?
    Structure?

There are so many to choose from its so confusing when you hit the water trying to decide where to start.

To be honest brush has very little to do with the fish that i'm trying to target while shooting docks, sure you can pick up fish from brushpiles around the dock and ones inside the well but to catch the big fish consistently the #1 element is shade.
