If you're concerned about water qualiy:USACE and USGS as well
as your local water supplier. It's the law that you are informed locally
and the Federal Govt uses the info above, as does the EPA. I know
my state has no lead issues what so ever as far as water quality.

ATRAZINE a biocide or herbacide is really polluting our water, along with
other agricultural products. It can account for 50% of the costs for treat-
ment of potable water.

Ask anyone in wildlife management and they will tell you that the largest problem with any waterway is agricultural run off and lake front property owners spraying their lawns. Several years ago we had a large fish kill in the river feeding our reservoir. So one evening I made the run up the river, and found the problem right away. The up river towns sanitation was dumping in the river, dead fish below the pipe and nothing dead up current from the pipe, pretty easy to figure out right?? For some reason the EPA was called in to investigate the problem and they could not find out what was causing the fish kill. Now if that was a farmer that was dumping Im sure they would have not had a problem fining him. EPA is a joke along with most of the other goverments agencys.

Did you read the petition? There's no mention of water quality. It's about waterfowl eating the shot, and fishing tackle. Also mentions studies of effects on humans eating prey killed with lead.

I'm sorry there is one paragraph that mentions water quality. There isn't really an argument that they are trying to make with it, or it would have 10 pages. Sorry about that.
