Green. get it in the water as soon as possible, with the leaves on it if possible.

If it's big size stalks you may want to even drill a few holes in it, but if skinny stalks then just use a lot. Make sure to use enough concrete. My first 5 all turned over after one storm only a few days after I put them out. I did catch crappie off one of them the very next day.

Be keerful diving into the boo patch right now Rich, I don't know how they are up yonder... but the chiggers will eat you alive down here right not if you step foot in the boo patch. I like to wait until after the first frost to cut the boo, also lots less traffic on the water too!

So far not a problem as the owner cut it down and tied it in big round bundles. hauling it in my SUV was still a mess but I used it like a truck..

PM Agrihawg, Jerry Blake, or Darryl Morris....they are FULL of boo knowledge!!!
"But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 25:15
