Smithville Sunday 8/29

Made it out late Sunday thinking the crazies would be leaving. No such luck. I did manage 8 nice keeper crappie and then headed to the points the last hour to chase white bass. They weren't surfacing hard but I found a few to test out my new power ultralight. This is a Shimano rod with a heavier butt to allow you to horse them a little more. Man was it fun on those 13 to 14 inch white bass! Work is in the way the rest of the week, but I may try and hit it again Friday evening. If not I may get up early on Saturday. I haven't fished a morning yet this year. Good luck this week and Lee, leave some for me!

congrats on the good day, I don't get into the white bass verry often but man they are sure fun to catch, my neighbour likes them so I clean them and give them away. they are sure hard on your arms when they are getting after the shad, cast after cast fish after fish, glad the crazys didn't get you down. later man

Trust me on no sleep.....Mike snores like a chainsaw.....I don't know how Gretchen puts up with ya??? Ohhh and Jake you don't need to worry about me catching em all. I don't even keep em when I do catch a few:D

I've never set out to catch white bass but sounds like it's pretty fun
might have to try it some day
