    Default question about 4stroke moters


    what type oil do you use in them and where is the draine plug so in can drain what oil that is in it out just bought got the pontoon home saturday and been working on it. had to redo a carb abd a gas line and the pumpball.thainks

    I follow what the manufacturer says regarding oil.. As for the drain valve, it is probably down towards the top of the lower unit...

    The drain plug is about half the way down the shaft just above the foot. You can miss it on the side. I use the Mercury 4 stroke oil but all my friends use a good synthetic out like Castrol or equal. I was scared to try at first but after I did it was so easy.

    You should be able to just take the filter to an autoparts store and they will be able to match it up for you

    You should be able to get the tech specs on the manufactuers website
