I got this off another board..Sound like it just may work

A buddy of mine told me a couple years ago that whenever he catches a nice fish that is bleeding like crazy, and it is going into the live well, you can pour about 4 oz of cold Mt. Dew down the throat, and it will stop the bleeding.
Now, at first my initial thought was it was complete B.S., but a few weeks ago I pulled in a 5lb largemouth that was really needed in that live well, so I figured what the hell, and sure enough, within about 5 minutes it had stopped bleeding and made it all the way to the scales without any problems. That fish spent 6 hours in the livewell and never had a problem. .
The citric acid helps the blood clot for some reason.

Just thought I would pass it along--:D
