3,566 members of crappie.com and about 10 people are trying to destroythe best things going for the crappie fishermen who use the internet. My grandad use to say "some people just need to soak their socks in gasoline to keep the ants off their candy as$$es" For some reason, this phrase is popping upin my head every time I log on. While the off topic forum was once a place to discuss almost anything, it became a place of refuge for the politically opinionated whose mouths are bigger than their brains.

The sad thing about this is that Edd, out of the kindness of his heart, gives us this internet site and does a lot to keep it updated for us. What does he get in return? Members who somehow feel they are owed something from everyone. Their only intent is to start an argument. find either fault or correctness in posts. While they use to keep their childish arguments on the off topic forum, now they have bled over to the only place I felt you could actually discuss fishing tactics. Now, the shouting matches are on the main fishing forum. A sad sad day indeed.

I have posted maybe 2 or 3 times in the past month or so when I usually post up to 3 times a day. It just isn't worth it. As a teacher, I defuse enough silly teenage arguments as it is. the last thing I want to do is jump into one when I want to talk fishing. But, looks like that is what I have just done.

Edd, thank you for giving me a place to post the Shoals Area Crappie Association information for everyone. I can't tell you how much I appreciate what you have done for us crappie fishermen. Unfortunately, this thing has come to a head and something must be done. You can't make us all happy, I know. But I hope you can find a solution to this mess and somehow the board can be restored to some assemblance of normalcy. Right now, I am almost embarassed to send new SACA members to this site. I will just give them the address to the state boards, that is until this crap seeps over into that board.

Good luck Edd and thank you for everything you have done. Hope it works out ok for everyone.

Glad to see you post this. The ones doing it are just trying to start stuff. I almost desided to stop posting and just leave. but will not let one or 2 do that. It is funny that the one is picking on Fatboy. Makes you wonder who it is.

There is a difference between creating an avenue for people to post their opinions and having a place where people are asked for their opinions.

The later being the best approach... is my opinion...

It is a great site but don't think he does it out of heart goodness. Business venture. Nothing more, nothing less. Still a great site. I wish that I would have bought the crappie.com domain back along time ago when domains about fishing were selling for dirt cheap. It is a nice business move by Mr. Ed. But, don't think for a minute this is done out of charity. :)

If there were not negative people in this world we would be in heaven. It comes with the territory. While yes it is frustrating remeber this site has helped a whole lot of us. Do not let the negative attitudes get ya down.
And thanx to everyone who has made this site a crappie fishermens place of refuge. Besides the water of course. To those who like to complain and argue find a new home.

Be blessed

Hey Kamper:

You can't "set the record straight" when you have absolutely no clue what you are talking about.

Dont let the point get lost. It really doesnt matter if he gets paid or not. We all have a place to come talk crappie. Back to the point, this site is not for causing contention.

Its funny that just that quick you get to see what David was talking about.
