catfish on jigs

Not rare or even unusual to get one once in a while crappie fishing,but I got 3 channels and a bullhead in 2 hours of crappie fishing.No nibbles or minnows,just a jig.Lots of 3-4 inch shad in the area,and about every 15 minutes there was a huge boil on the surface where a blue or flat was busting them...looked like someone chucked a cinder block off the bridge!

got a tree row on truman that's almost a sure bet for a channel or two this time of year for another month or more,,,,maybe that's why can't catch any crappie there

My Wife catches more catfish on Jigs than crappie.

During the hot weather i am always hooking into a channel cat. A five pound channel cat on at 10' crappie pole is a good battle.
