    Default Smithville 8/26

went up to Smithville Lake tonight. I started up camp branch just behind the island. I fished there for an hour but no fish. I went back down acrose from Camp Branch, no luck there. Decided to go up littlt platte. Catching was much better. I caught 13 keepers before dark. I sure like catching them on the long pole. had 3 that were 12 inches, the rest were 9 and 10.

I can't believe you didn't catch any where you fished at? We been killing them real close to where you were at. Keep at it you will find them. Lee

Good job on the catch. I've given up on the Camp Branch side of the lake. The place seems to be full of small black crappies and very few keepers. It's been tough for me the past couple of years. I remember when I started fishing 4 years ago, you would hit the bridge pilings at Camp Branch and catch your limit of fish in a couple of hours. I haven't had that happen since.
