    Default Reel Question

I got my rod tips painted now I need to buy a few reels. I have read some good reviews on the shimano IX200, what are you all using. Im not wanting to break the bank but something good. It will be for night fishing only. Thanks

Depends on how much you want to spend on the Shimano's. I've got many that are over 20 years old and still going strong. My new one is going to be the Spirex 1000 RG (rear drag model). It cost's $59.99 in most of the catalouges.

It's on the higher end of the Shimano reels but you get what you pay for. Just my 2 cents

If your wanting cheaper reels, I guess all would suffice. I would go ahead and buy the lower end Shimano reels, like the Sienna. For about 30 bucks each, these reels will serve your purpose, and last you a long time.

Its hard to beat the Pflueger President or Trion. Have them on all my rods, and have never had any problems...

I have used these for years with great service. I know they are cheap but I don`t worry about someone dropping one in the lake. I have more than 15 rigged right now. I use them for pulling crankbaits, longlining, and casting. They work great and yes I have some that cost more but I use these most of the time.

I have a mix. A couple real expensive Quantums, a few Gander Mtn. Guide Series, which were about $20.00 each (very good reels)
My favorite are my Tica Cetus' on my 3 St. Croix ultra lights.
I purchased these @ Gander Mtn. also.
