    Default Smithville 8/23

Took the day off and spent my birthday fishing. It wasn't hot and heavy, but managed a limit. Nothing huge until keeper number 16! A nice 13 incher off a single tree with no limbs no less. All the fish came from 12 fow and down about 7 feet. The bite was slow and they definitely wanted a falling or near stationary bait. No drifting the jig this time. Stiff wind had the area I normally fish muddied up a little which probably made them want a slow presentation. They can't eat what they can't see.

Normally 15 unless it's your bday. Lmao
Progressive Marine Insurance SUCKS!. If you hit a submerged object they will try to prove manufacturers defect....stay away from them.

That was what made the big fish so ironic. It had to go back in the lake.
