I am taking some online classes for college and have to open things on my computer. For some reason my computer opens everything automatically in wordpad instead of microsoft word. It does not give me an option to open it in word. What can I do to get it to open in word?

My son says for you to right click on the file and choose open with msword. If that does not work he says open msword then find the file and open it.

thanks fish but i figured it out, instead of hitting open I can just save it and it will save it in word form and the it will open back up in word and then i can delete it if need be, thanks for the help

Check the icon and make sure it's a word icon. Alot of colleges are writing documents in wordpad because alot of folks can't afford the Office software.
