Dennis and I got four fair reds and a flounder this AM before the wind began whistling. Same pattern, except that we were fly fishing. The most notable thing about the morning was the same alligator that tried to snatch yesterday's biggest red was still around, and he was doing his best today to make up for his earlier miss!
I ended up making three ramming assaults on it with my trolling motor - trying to spook it so it would leave us alone, but after it disappeared for a moment, here it would come again! It's about a 6-footer and assuredly conditioned to receiving snacks from fishing-boats. Give it two more feet and with the same temperament, and it could end up being bad news for someone - one that size can climb into a low-sided boat!!
So folks, PLEASE DON'T FEED THE ALLIGATORS!
Pete
