Default Can You Have too Many Lights???

I've heard many different opinions on this topic. Can you have too many lights when night fishing? The last trip, we had 2 q-beams and 1 green submersible and then two clamp on shop lights off the same side pointing out at the rod tips and didn't do too well. On another trip, I had 2 submersible green lights off one side with a shop light towards the rods, and a q-beam with a shop light on the other side and did alright, but nothing worth bragging about. Just wondering if the number of lights I am using is affecting my catch rate.

I use just 1 submersible and have a headlight on my head for when I need to see.I think the light off the green submersible light puts out enough light to see my rod tips.We do very well

Ditto az and sometimes I may put out one 36" long green light and sometimes I will put out a couple of the LED green lights. Never had as many as you do. If you put out lights above the water here you better have one or two Thermacell's

I also use a head light to see to re-tie or something, but it's off all the time other than a short time for something like that.

One or two lights are more than enough. One in front of the boat and one at the back of the boat.
Fish outside the glow of light and slowly very slowly come into the light.

That way you will find the game fish who are afraid of light, and game fish
who are darting into the circle of light to get their prey.
