Well, I think it may be tournament time again! I wanted to put out a poll to find out when everyone wants to get together for the next round of fishing. It’s been exciting to see out tournaments grow each and every time we get together. There have been a lot of new members been joining. I know our next outing will be bigger than the last. Hope to see you all out again. Any new members or non-members are more than welcome.
Here are the rules:
- $20.00 tournament entry per boat. Each $20 entry has one chance at the pot.
- $5.00 big fish entry per person (optional).
- 7 Fish weigh in. (Remember there is a 15 crappie limit per person at Smithville. So catch your limit,
then weigh in the largest 7 crappie you caught).
- Any bait can be used (live or artificial).
- Payout will be 1st at 70%, 2nd 30%, and 3rd $20 (Entry fee).
- We will meet on the west side of the W Bridge Boat Launch.
- Entry fee will be paid at the boat launch before we put out.
There was a suggestion sent to me the last time we had our tournament that I think was a good idea. The suggestion was to have the winners go over how they fished that day, where they fished, and what they used to catch the fish with. This is a way to pass on information and techniques used by other anglers.
Tournament date, start time, and tournament length will be part of the poll. I am also putting in some other suggestions for the tournament that were emailed to me. There are 6 poll questions: (1)Date, (2)Tournament Length, (3)Tournament Start Time, (4)Prior Tournament Winners Put-Out Time, (5)Weigh In Time, (6)Cookout. Please vote once for each question. The poll will anonymous, no username will display. Any comments and suggestions are more than welcome.

Thanks for putting this together, Alex!
I will not be voting because not sure if I can make it. Will have to see what my schedule looks like when it gets closer. At the one pole here on Truman we said the top 3 teams were to tell how they caught there fish. I think all 6 teams in the money told us how they did it. Most with great detail such as where, what bait, water depth, how deep etc etc. I think it went very well at our tournament and believe it will at yours also. Hope I can make it up. Depending on schedule I may have to ask for a seat with one of the Smithville locals.
I voted for a Saturday date this time. I think some guys may have a hard time making Sundays with Church. Might give some new guys a chance to fish if they would like?
I will try and make whatever date. Although I doubt I will fish that lake on Labor Day. YUK!!!
Thanks again for putting another tournament together for us. Lee
I'm with Lee no labor day for sure.
May all your live wells be full.Dave
Sept bad for me, taking the wife on vacation and last week of sept going to lake michigan and it would be a no for me on smithville on laborday weekend.
Lee, your welcome. But, I gotta tell ya all I do is just put out the posts. It takes all of us to put on these tournaments. I really appreciate all the participation from everyone that come to our get togethers. I am looking forward to seeing everyone again and hopefully meeting some new people.

Labor Day would be better than saturday of the holiday weekend.
Dave, Labor Day weekend would not be my first choice either. Looks like the majority of the guys are looking to get together later in the month. Hopefully it'll be a lot cooler then too.

Thats a good idea Alex later after it cools down. Alex maybe you should take that new boat and go down and fish truman and meet some of the guys down there.
May all your live wells be full.Dave
