    Default Hi Vis Line

    I'm looking for some opinions....

I fish w/ Hi-Vis Line. The "old" Stren Hi-Vis yellow actually and have been using it for years.

I've always used a foot or so Florocarbon leader but now I'm beginning to rethink that. One less knot to tie, etc.

Does anybody fish w/ Hi-Vis line and run it right to the hook, jig, etc.

I have used the hi vis stren for years and it is some very stout line. Most of the time it has not effected my catch rate, very few times has that happened. It is also some of the strongest line I ever used.

I use the Mr. Crappie Hi-Vis green and have been using it all year. I run it straight to my jigs and caught alot of fish in less than 2' of water with it. 'Course when theyre that shallow it probably doesnt really matter. But to answer your question...yes! I've caught fish from the shallow down to 20' deep tied straight to the jig and see no reason to change.

I tie hi vis straight to my jig when I'm single-poling, which is usually around brush. I don't think they can see it when there is a lot of other vertical lines around, ie brush, limbs, stumps. I have seen it make a difference where I fish, once. I've changed all riggin poles to clear/blue so I haven't had anything to compare the catch rate with since.
