    Default Broken pole?

I broke about 12 inches off the tip of one of my crappie poles. It is a Wally Marshall Crappie Thunder. I looked at their website but didnt really see anything. Maybe I should just call Bass Pro. I thought maybe some of yall may have had the same problem or may know where to get it replaced. Thanks for any help.

If it isn't still under warranty go to Wal-Mart and purchare the rod tip repair kit (about $3 I think) follow the directions and you'll be ready to fish again in about 5 minutes.

Well, the reason I was thinking about replacing it is it broke between the second and third eye. Maybe more than 12 inces was broke.

If it's a 2 piece rod you may be able to just buy the upper section somewhere.

If you do go the tip repair route it'll just be a little bit stouter and may come in handy for hauling big slabs out of thick cover.

I'd call BPS and see if they offer tip sections for that rod, or contact wally himself and see if he can help you out. He's a member here on CDC.

    .

No matter what you do with it, it will never be the same again. Pitch it in the trash and get a new rod.

I broke the tip on one of my poles and my fix was:
get a in-line splice which is for electrical wire. It has a metal insert within the plastic sleeve. Mix up some JB WELD, fill up the splice and slide the broke ends into the splice.
You will have to prop the pole pieces to make sure that when the JB WELD sets up that the pole and eyes are in alignment.
Not the prettiest piece of work but functional, which is what you want.
Reminds you every time that you look at the tip end of the pole "BE CAREFUL"
