Default The "Bling Bling" Gets Them

We all know that the blades on several types of jigs will attract crappies. I am wondering if anyone has ever seen statistics or evidence that gold blades are more effective thhat nickle coated blades. What is your opinion? Attached is a poll. Please vote as well as comment.

    Thanks

I think it depends upon the predominant forage fish and water clarity.

Not that I have a lot of data to base a firm opinion, but several trips this spring, nickel out performed gold by a long stretch. Haven't actually tried chartruese blades yet, but plan to.

Nickle in clear water with clear skies, gold in stained water.

No offense, don't use anything with blades, so it's a moot point to me. Friend of mine used RR's a lot, both color blades, doesn't seem to matter a lot?

Gold in stained to muddy water and silver in clear has been my experience.

I love gold but it either seems it works or doesn't, while nickel will pick up fish regardless. But if gold is working, it's gonna kill them.

    Just my experience.

The blades do make a difference as with a spinnerbait. size, color, and shape, all play a factor in the performance of the bait. That is why Johnson Beetle Spins comes in a lot of different sizes, colors, and shape on the blades. EB
