Will not be able to make it but sounds like a great tournament for the kids. We need to get something like that going here in Mid MO for our youth. Great way to get the kids involved in the sport.
For our Show-me neighbors... Next month, the West TN Crappie Club will be hosting an "open" youth-only tournament. Anyone who can find a kid or kids to fish with is more than welcome to join us. This tournament will be open to WTCC members, and non-members alike. There will be no entry fees. This is a free tournament. PLEASE BE SURE TO INVITE YOUR FRIENDS, FAMILY, CO-WORKERS, ETC.!!!
There will be two divisions, 1 for kids 12 years of age and under, and 1 for kids from 13 through 17. Trophies and prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Place, as well as the Big Fish, in each of the two divisions. In addition, there will be giveaways for all of the youth participants!!!
The tournament will be held on Saturday, August 14th. Registration will be held at the Eva Park Ramp, in Eva, TN, on KY Lake, beginning at 6:00 AM. All boats will launch at this ramp location, with fishing beginning at 7:00 AM. As this is an open tournament, there will be a basic safety inspection of every boat, prior to launch, to ensure that life preservers, fire extinguishers (as required), etc. are present. All entrants must also be appropriately licensed, all boats must be appropriately registered, and participants will be required to sign a release of liability waiver.
Weigh-in will be back at the ramp at 12 noon. Please be aware that each participating youth will weigh in his or her own fish, so be certain that the fish caught by each youth participant are kept separate. There can be absolutely no "sharing" of fish!!! Prizes will be awarded immediately following the weigh-in, and we will have a cookout (all food and drinks provided by the club and our sponsors).
Directions... from Camden courthouse square, go East on TN Hwy. 191, 6.5 miles to Eva. There is only one 4-way intersection in Eva. There, turn right on Eva Beach Drive, which will dead end at the ramp.
All participants should familiarize themselves with the WTCC Tournament Rules, prior to the tournament, as all club rules will be enforced. The rules can be found at the following link...
