Way to get them started young. I have enough trouble getting and teaching the guys from work that I fish with to use the 10 ft rods and they are grown men. What lake were you fishing?

Looks like you'll be doing some more rod shopping. My son finally started getting the hang of dippin trees and catchin a few so I guess the longpole in the next step.

Ditto! Once the fall bite begins they'll be little pros with those longpoles.

well jigging15 we were at smithville .the young lady is almost six and does real well , actually catches a few fish, the young man is four and sometimes is a little short on being patient, he like to cast and reel. so i have to hook the fish and hand him the rod.the biggest problem i have is being nervous that they might drop my b&ms in the lake.
