Default Results from Clinton Lake, KS (MO Widow Boys Whip A_ _)

Well the 2nd Summer Sunday Crappie Tournament is over and there is no doubt that it's summer in Kansas but as most of us know that get out on the water in this weather when you got a breeze on the lake it's not bad at all.

11 teams showed up to fish the 2nd tournament of the summer and the MO team of Jeff Lewis, Peculiar, MO and David Blan, Drexel, MO took home top honors with a weight of 8.82 lbs. the team said they fished in less than 10' of water most of the day and black & chartruess was the go to color, the team also said they were having some trouble hooking fish early because the fish were nibbling at the bait, but they figured out that when they were nibbling they did have the bait and started setting the hook earlier and it payed off they took home $594.00 for their efforts. The team also said they tried using jigs tipped w/ minnows but thought that the fish were fighting with the minnows a little and started fishing jigs only. It was also nice to see one of our sponsors at the tournaments David Blan is the owner of Sunshine Home Improvement and Jeff also works in the window/home improvement industry. Nice job guys.

2nd place went to the KS team of Todd Morstorf and Brandon Manis with a weight of 7.94 lbs. for $300. The team said they caught their fish on black and chartruess turd tail jigs tipped w/crappie nibbles*. I have to put an asterisk besides these comments because these 2 are so full of it I can't make heads or tails out of what they are telling me . These guys are still on fire though, won our first tournament at Pomona and a Crappie Busters or 2 earlier this year, a good team especially now that Manis is helping out a little probably be even better if he'd stop thinking about shooting coyotes and coons all the time. Nice Job guys.

Big Fish went to the Lawrence, KS team of Mike and Eric Schrock they had a 1.61 lb. crappie for their only keeper of the day but they made it count and took home $110. good job guys

3rd place went to the team of Tony Niemeyer, Gardner, KS and Jeremy Herring, LaCygne, KS. with a weight of 7.83 lbs. they finished just out of the money. This team came close and have been pre-fishing hard to get to this point, and have finished in the money at the Hills. Thurs. Night Tourney's on several occasions this year. They also had a couple fish die on them that might have made a difference. They said they were catching their fish on gray and white turd tail jigs. Nice job guys.

Thanks to everyone who came out we weighed in a lot of nice fish and I think everyone had a good time weather was hot but that makes for good fishing Next tournament will be at Melvern August 15th. Hope to see you there
