Thumbs up 07/17 Night Tourney Results

Great night last night. The weather was excellent, and we had a good bunch of folks. We had 6 boats (11 anglers) in the tournament. Here's the run-down...

1st Place - Bob Laster, with 10 fish, weighing 6 lbs, 10.0 oz.
2nd Place - George Pruitt, with 9 fish, weighing 5 lbs, 0.8 oz.
3rd Place - Vonna Pauls, with 6 fish, weighing 4 lbs, 5.6 oz.

Big Fish - Blake Bryant - 1 lb, 2.0 oz.
2nd Place Big Fish - Jerry Miller - 15.8 oz.

The best part of all was escaping these 90+ degree temps!!! Thanks to all who participated.

Looking forward to this Thursday (7/22) night's meeting, and also next month's (08/14) Youth Tournament!!! Hope to see you all there!!!

I had a ball fishing this one. The bugs weren't as bad as I thought they'd be (our last night fishing trip was bug city). The down side - neither one of us was worth .02 cents yesterday! Talk about screwing up your sleep pattern - I couldn't sleep last night either!

Yes, I fish like a girl. If you tried a little harder, you could too!!

I hear ya', Vonna. I am TOO OLD to be out that late!!! As I write this, the clock is about to strike 10, and it is already 2 hours past my bed time!!! :D

I have to say, though, the temps and that steady breeze made for a very enjoyable night!!! I am also TOO OLD to be out in a boat all day in this heat!!!

Speaking of bugs, in addition to our submerged green lights, we had a white light rigged out over the side of the boat, a couple of feet above the water. It drew a lot of bugs, but they pretty much focused on the light and left us alone. The only problem we had was dodging the bats, that were chasing the bugs. I almost had to change my underwear the first time one swooped right over the top of my head!!!
