how about you and chugbug we are thinking about fishing the rock 7 24 2010After Skeeterguy had such a good night on Thursday, I hit the water late Friday evening. Got on the water about 8:45 pm and got set up for a nightstalk. My decision to go at the last moment resulted in a solo trip, but I wanted to give it a try...The first hour of dark resulted in seven quality fish and a few misses. I thought that it would not be long till I got 20 nice fish in the boat and could call it a night. Wrong!!! The bite all but quit for me after 10:00pm. I only got a few more crappies and a few white perch. Called it quits at 12:20 only to realize that my cranking battery had gone ka-plunk! Took about 25-30 minutes to get one of my trolling motor batteries hooked up and then cranked up to go home. What my trip lacked in quantity it made up for it with quality. Every fish I got was 9"+ with two around 12", so I still got a nice mess of fillets for the fryer. I guess Skeeterguy and his cousin knocked them out the night before and there were only a few leftovers left for me....Oh well, we can't all get 70 a night...Still had a good time, except for the battery dying. I hope to get back out and troll some more this week. I think that I am about to put some trolling patterns together for the summer. Time will tell.
