    Default Poverty Point Cats

Made a late afternoon trip to PP yesterday after the rain and caught 11 catfish on chicken liver, including one bue cat that went just over 9 lbs.

    Hey Terry -
Have you caught any sacs/cats/bass on those "jigs" I sent you?

Pete, did catch some sacs on the jigs -- uh, I mean flies-- but nothing over about a pound. I plan to try them out in Saline Larto this winter/spring and get that record breaking white crappie.

Good luck with it. I'd hate to see ol Boatstall get bumped, but he's had the top spot long enough!
Besides, I'm still jealous of that fish! :D

I went yesterday morning to Darbonne and got some cats on livers tight lining. I got tied off around daylight and fished about 3 hours. Ended up with 11 keepers with 3 2-3 lbers.

I'm planning on repeating this tomorrow morning as well.

I was fisning around these trees. If you look at the map click on "Aerial" on the top then click "Birds Eye". Double click to zoom. Very good quality images of most of Darbonne.

Sorry, Robert, I don't fish for the perch in the summer time. I don't think anyone does so that sort of tells me Poverty Point's not much of a summer time crappie lake.

One of the guys at Toledo Tackle told me Saturday that they were catching white perch on the Yucatan in the flooded timber. The river gauge at Vicksburg is about 30' and I never fish the lake until it gets down to about 20', so I really wouldn't know where to start.
