    Default Routers???

I need to replace my Linksys WRT160N and am getting confused as to what is available these days. It needs to be wireless and have a couple ports for wired ( 802.11n ) connections. Megabit would be nice but it must be compatible with Win 7, 64 bit. Range needs to be better than the WRT160N as my puter does not always see the router. Moving equipment around is not an option. I don't do anything fancy with it and basically use default programming. Any suggestions as to what to consider? Tnx

Bill, my first advice is to get as far away from Linksys as you can. Netgear is a great system. Of course if you're a Westell modem/router user (depending on DSL service)-- they are great too. Check your service and see if you're eligible for one of the new modem/routers combos.

use a linksys and leave your network password as the default so all use neighbors can piggy back on your connection. i ain't paid for internets in 3 years. i got really dumb neighbors when it comes to wifi....

When I hosted from home I left my wifi open for my neighbors. I didn't care if they were on my network. It didn't cost me any more or less and I liked my neighbors.

i got three neighbors who got linksys routers and 2 that have netgear. i get better speed from the netgear routers but they do happen to be a little closer to me than the linksys folks.

Saw this today. Whee, my router is a "NO".

Millions of routers vulnerable to new version of old attack

And, do we really need to worry about this???

Bosch makes a good plunge router.
Sears sells a decent generic router, but if your doing heavy wood, get something made from metal. :D
