Exclamation How do you hold your pole?

A few questions about how some of you hold your pole while you tightline a jig...

Do you hold the line between your fingers?

Do you rest the butt end of your rod against your forearm?

How do you deal with fatigue while holding a rod for several hours?

I recently bought a Wally Marshall Pro Series 10' jigging pole and bought a Shimano spinning reel from BPS, this thing is HEAVY and I hear alot of people hold the line between their fingers to help with feeling the bite better. When I try this way it is very uncomfortable. Just wanted to know your thoughts.

I just change from hand to hand and will also change from just in front of the reel and some at the reel where the foot is between my fingers. I do have rod holders and at times I will put it in there, but not much. If you hold it in front of the spinning reel the weight is more balanced.

Also makes a big difference in what size reel you have. I bet people chuckle at me and my high end reels crappie fishing, but they are better and less weight. The last couple I bought were high cost, but I am so happy with them I don't care. I have some of the same models, just older than these which are improved and wow even a big difference there too. I can't tell you how smooth these reels are and a pleasure to fish with.

    But that is just me.

    Thanks Skip

The rod and reel I bought is good, just a little heavy. I might just have to get used to it or find me a lighter reel maybe.
