Haven't been to Pomano much, always stop at Melvern if we go North....Melvern is a good producer but if you catch Toronto or better yet Fall River you can be in for some really good fishing.
Both these lake are very good for crappie. Melvern is proubly/maybe the better lake. If you can be on either at the right time you will have a blast.
I have fishing both with bucktail jis and done very well.
The Crappie are always biting better yesterday - I'm always a day late.

Sacred Heart of Mary, pray for us now, and at the hour of our death. AMEN
For those who believe, no explanation is necessary....for those who don't, no explanation is possible
For the sake of his sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and the whole world
Melvern has produced some big crappie the last five years had no reason to fish any where else.
drifter106 from what I am hearing your right. If you can caught Fall River when it is hot WATCH OUT. A friend of mime fish it 2 years ago, according to him every 2 or 3 cast was either a Crappie or White Bass. He show me some pictures of some BIG Crappie SLABS.
But like last year we were fishing council grove every 3 days with little success of hitting the main spawn. The week end we figure it would happen the lake jump up 6 foot.

I believe KDWP ranks fall river as the top for crappie fishing 2005-2006.
I've had good success fishing fall river on the far west side of the dam, around late february early March..Caught good size slabs two years ago...Haven't had much luck up the river though...
