....on the water. Put in at Bucksaw around 7 AM. Went downriver and fished hedge trees on flats in 10 to 15 fow. Caught fish 5 to 7 feet down. Had a nice limit by 9:30. Fish were caught on blue/wht, wht/char, and purple/char. Also pitched a jig into a bunch of very hungry white bass. Must have caught 30 of those things! Had a blast! Gonna try it upriver tomorrow.

Sounds like a great day Bob. Glad the boat is back together for you and the fish are cooperating also. Stay after them for me. Just had my first epideral steroid injection so I will be out of commision for a few days. But then I will be ready to get after them. Congrats again on a quick limit.

Lenny, I have to admit that I left a good bite to go farther downriver and the only thing on G14 was 5 boats and the hungry whitebass. I caught 1 crappie at G14 but the whites were a lot of fun. They had schools of shad pushed up against the banks and were just spankin em!

found the bite very slow, so we had our sawsall and blocks and just decided to build some brush piles now that the lake is coming down some....... we only fished and hour or so and said make it a work day, maybe the fish will be there later.......color didn't matter, they didn't care for anything we tried...glad you found some down...... and active......:) Bob on your starter, I used to take my starters to Hileman's in Sedalia and he would rebuild them for like $30 and do a heck of a job, not sure if he is still there or not, but might be worth checking on next time, didn't know you were having started problems, I have been down for two weeks, rerigging all the old wiring and tm and this and that, only thing I got left to fix is the cigarette lighter......:)

That is what happens to me, I get to thinking I am good, move and find a dead zone. Are the shad getting any size to them or still minnow size?

Sorry I missed you Bob, went to G-10 and started on the cedars across from the point, caught a few, most were short, 10 to 12 ft deep in 20 to 22 FOW all on white/chart slab slayers. Never got a bite at g-14, picked up a few others, 8 to 10 inches on the way back, all around10 ft deep. Going again in the morning, will most likley put in at Sparrowfoot and work down. Lucky you weren't at Bucksaw, seemed like a 1000 boats were there for a bass tourny

I found out about the flw tournament when I got there this morning! There was a slug of boats there!
Fished below otter and had 9 very nice ones by 11:00. 2-4' of water! They were in the Buck brush eating shad. They were scattered but man when they would hit it they were crushing it! Had one 14" and several 13" fish.
Got a ticket at 4:30am for not completely stopping at a stop sign a mile from my house. No cars within 2 miles of me! What a azz!
I also managed to not get a strap off my boat this morning. Could not figure out why it would not back off the trailer. What a moron I am! LOL

Well, being true to my word, I put in at Deepwater yesterday morning. Fishing was
S-L-O-W to say the least. Managed to put 11 nice crappies in the box. Put in a trot line late yesterday and wound up with a couple of limits of blues and channels. Catfish nuggets in the freezer. Didn't even bother to crappie fish today. Yesterday's pitiful effort challenged my resove.

What can I say? I knew about the bassers going out of Bucksaw. Decided to stay as far away from them as possible. Guess that meant staying away from fish too??

One more thing........broke one of my brand new OZARK rod tips setting the hook on a gar. Of course I didn't know it was a gar at the time. Guess I'll give Tony (the store) a call tomorrow and see if I can get another. That wasn't the fastest $15 I pissed down a drain but it was close!

Well, I'm not "out" of rear seaters. I still have two I can fish with, a 10 and an 11. I may not fish for a while anyways. Wife is away for work and I hope to get a couple things done here before she gets back.

Thanks for the offer of the "loaner", Monty.

Good fishin to ya'll.
