Default I weep for the state of education

A polling company surveyed 1004 Americans in June, and more than 1 in 4 could not name the country the USA won its independence from in 1776. 20% said they weren't sure, and 6% named the wrong country.

It just boggles my mind. Is there something in the water that makes people dumber as time goes on?

What's really scary is that these people vote.

If everyone was truly educated, there would be no need of the democratic party.

One can't help but notice who these people elected. Grand thanks to the US public progressive education system and the NEA for their distortion of US history and ignoring the importance of limited Government and the Constitution and the resulting freedoms and how it has advanced the human condition to unimagined levels experienced by the rest of the world.

Thanks to our Ivy League Institutions for the education of our political elites that now know much better than the rest of the non ivy league educated slubs just how our lives should be lived and the proper political systems we need and where a Harvard Business School graduate and US President would say "I've abandoned free-market principles to save the free-market system,".

I really think one will find that the institutions of higher learning have always played a vital part in the staffing and furtherance of all previous heinous tyrannies that have occurred in the world were mass human sufferings have been the outcome and also notice that Oblama is having no problems in staffing all his czarist positions towards carrying out his grand schemes for this this terrible and awful country in need of some fundamental change. Kind of makes one hope for some massive failures here. Anyhow I'm a doing some hoping here.

Sure hope I've not been living during the apogee of this countries greatness for the conditions of human freedoms. What interesting times we are a living.
“There is no difference between communism and socialism, except in the means of achieving the same ultimate end: communism proposes to enslave men by force, socialism—by vote. It is merely the difference between murder and suicide.” Ayn Rand

I agree with this, but it all starts at home.
