I have discovered a method for keeping minnows out of the weeds. Just take the thread that. Your wife uses to sew your rips with. And thread it through the hook eye.then take the thread and combine. Then slip it behind the hook barb, then wrap the. Rest

Around the jighead shaft until it is tight. You now have a weedless jighead for minnow fishing. Use a loop knot to attatch to line. Because. Loop knots are easier to get out of the weeds.

    Exclamation Tried those, Dnchance ....

I'm more into using these, when I want a weedless jig :

I have Grousefly make these for me

Oh yeah, I've also tried the dental rubber band trick :p ... where you take one of those dental/braces rubber bands, and hook it around the jig's line eye & then under the hook point barb. It works, but it's one more piece of equipment to have, and one more step in getting your jig "weedless" ... when, if I use the two jigs pictured, they're ready to go right out of the package :D

Another version of the bass pro device is I take a big bass tube and cut the skirts off and use them the same way. Much cheaper but Pappy is right, only good for 1 or 2 fish. Also a way to get rid of them dang bass baits.

plus, using this method, should a fish ever hit and miss the hook, your minnow has a higher chance of staying on the hook.

I hate handpickin' a good sized minnow out of the bucket just to have it come off the hook as I put the pole in the water!
