Question About Hi-Tek Holders

I already have a 7/8 in. rod down both sides of my Panfisher Stick Steer. I have 8 of the Driftmaster rail base mounts on them. We don't like the Driftmasters that well for Spiderrigging out the front and sides and I was thinking about just ordering the Hi-Tek Holders.
Can I adapt these threads to the threads in the Driftmaster bases?
If so, I plan on using a short 1 or 2 in. piece of all thread and some wing nuts or hex nuts under the holder and on top of the base.
I'll still want to use my tall Driftmaster holders when trolling crankbaits. This is why I'm trying to use my old rack set-up.
