    Default Good Weekend @ LOZ

My daughter had a bunch of friends sleep over at the house, so Nick and I decided to get outta dodge and head for the lake. Since I've vowed not to return to Twain for awhile, and Nick had to be back by early afternoon Sunday, we hit the Glaize arm at LOZ. Saturday got up and spent too long enjoying a big breakfast at Kays - hit the water at 9, and spent the day sweating and hgetting alternately buzzed by waverunners and taking on huge waves from boats that probably belong in the ocean. On a good note, my son says we earned the Flying Fish award by launching the Skeeter airborne... Yikes. Called it quits about 1 and went back out from 6-8:30, after collecting about a dozen keepers for the day, along with probably 25 dinks and a few bass. This morning was much better... Hit the Glaize at 6:20, and I had a limit of keepers by 8:30. No monsters, just good eaters. Stayed out until 10 while Nick finished up his limit. All minnows today, and all fish were in 12'-20' of water in brushpiles and over a rock ledge dropoff. All in all a fun guys' weekend with my son, and the girls had fun back home. Just finished our FRESH fish-fry dinner. Early bedtime for us all tonight!

    Default Good Job Ralph

glad to hear you found some, and fished in between the ocean goers... I always get a little mad, but then remeber when I was young, I would be doing the same thing the wave runners and boats do, we all have to share the same lake....... so I have learned to calm my nevers a little, bite my tounge,etc....... just damed glad we have a couple darn nice lakes to enjoy ourselves........

Great job dad. That is good stuff. Grats on the catch.
We do not want the gift of a fish; neither do we expect a lesson on fishing; what we direly need is a chance to fish
