    Default catfishing cross lake

well me and freebird, lynden, went to cross lake on thursday nite and fished til 1 am. we ended up with a 48Q ice chest full of catfish. mostly blues and channels. we ended up with 22.

then we went back on friday, from about noon til 6 and caught another 48Q ice chest full. these were not quite as big as the ones we caught at nite. we had 36. and lynden took a few of these. so i don't know exactly how many we caught. my wife was at the beach and had the camera, so i couldn't take any pics. sorry. gonna be a good fish fry soon.

we caught all the fish on cut shad.

Wow Doc! That's more than I thought we had! I was guessing 15 on Thursday night and about 25 on Friday. I took six home Friday --was that part of the 36 or do we count 6 more?

Dude I tried to hand you the sunscreen...

Just finished off a mess of grilled catfish tacos! Awesome! Brushed the fillets with olive oil/lemon juice/cajun seasoning, spread them on fresh corn tortillas (heat them in a little oil in a skillet to keep them from falling apart) and dressed them with avocado slices, onion, tomato, fresh cilantro, salsa verde and sour cream.

Nice fishing report Doc, but I don't want to hear anything about tacos. I just returned from San Diego and I'm sick of tacos and all Mexican food. Give me some good old stews and gumbo plus some nice fired fish. Sure missed my coffee too.

Hey Doc, how were ya'll catching them out there?

I always heard all the stories about some great catfishing out there but never had much luck myself when we would try them.

We were drifting with the wind, using fresh cut shad on the bottom. Center of the lake, 15-9 ft of water.
